Year 9 Nutrition and Food Tecnology

This is a half year course. It is open to any year 12 or 13 student.

In this course you will

  • develop an understanding of factors which influence individual, whānau/family, and community well-being and learn to identify appropriate actions to enhance and sustain well-being.
  • apply understandings of personal and inter-personal relationships to selecting, preparing, and serving appropriate food.
  • make informed, ethical decisions about food choices, based on knowledge of current issues in food and nutrition and understanding of factors that influence preferences and behaviours at school and community levels.

In this course you will:

  • analyse factors which influence individual, whānau/family, and community well-being and learn to apply appropriate actions to enhance and sustain well-being.
  • evaluate the ethical decisions made about food choices, based on their knowledge of current issues in food and nutrition and understanding of factors that influence preferences and behaviours at school, community and societal levels.
